Texas Hill Country Golf Courses
Updated June 2026 • New Braunfels, San Marcos, Waco & the I-35 Corridor
The Texas Hill Country draws visitors for the Guadalupe River, Fredericksburg wineries, and weekend getaways from Austin and San Antonio. Golf is less talked about — but the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Waco has a solid set of affordable public courses, most with green fees under $35 and almost no tee-time competition on weekdays.
All of the courses below are covered by TrackPass — 1 free round per year per out-of-network course as part of the $199/year membership.
Courses Along the I-35 Corridor
Landa Park Golf Course — New Braunfels
~$25/roundSet inside New Braunfels' historic 51-acre Landa Park, this 9-hole course (play twice for 18) runs along the Comal River. Mature trees, shaded fairways, and zero pretension — this is Texas municipal golf at its most relaxed. A good course to add to a New Braunfels weekend trip.
Springs Hill Golf Course — San Marcos
~$28/roundSan Marcos's public course, a short drive from Texas State University and the San Marcos Premium Outlets. Walkable, affordable, and rarely crowded. Good option if you're passing through on 35 between Austin and San Antonio and want to squeeze in 18 holes.
Cottonwood Creek Golf Course — Waco
~$30/roundWaco's city course near the Brazos River. A flat, tree-lined layout that suits all skill levels. Waco has grown significantly since Magnolia Market put it on the tourist map — Cottonwood Creek is a low-cost add for golf-inclined visitors staying in the area.
Georgetown Golf Course — Georgetown
~$32/roundGeorgetown is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US and its city golf course reflects that — well-maintained, affordable, and accessible. 30 minutes north of Austin on 35. Good option for north Austin and Round Rock golfers who want to avoid Austin traffic.
Twin Creeks Golf Club — Cedar Park
~$40/roundCedar Park's public course is one of the more polished layouts in the Austin suburbs — wide fairways, well-kept greens, and a scenic Hill Country feel despite being inside the 183/45 corridor. Popular with northwest Austin and Cedar Park residents who want to stay out of town.
